No Such Thing as Being Overdressed

Does this sound all too familiar?

You finally decide to get up after pressing snooze for the umpteenth time, on this frigid winter weekday morning, you’re sluggish and have to get ready for that 9-5 in a hurry. Making morning brain decisions, which means throwing on whatever to get you out the door. We’ve all been there and done that.

Now that you’re at work, you seem off your game. Maybe you grabbed a shirt from that laundry pile on your floor and you’re starting to realizing that wasn’t the clean pile. Not to mention, you’re having a bad hair day. For the cherry on top, let’s add that you have coffee breath. Hope you’re buckled in, it’s gonna be a rough 8 hours; don’t feel too bad, we’ve all fell victim to the morning rush.

Days like this are no coincidence, and it’s important we learn from our mistakes. How you present yourself is a reflection of your state of mind; it’s the key that ignites your engine. Every successful day starts with a successful outfit. Not only will you have more confidence within yourself, but others will as well, even if you don’t know what you’re talking about. Hell, I tucked in my turtleneck before writing this and you’ve made it this far.

Follow the HR rules, but stand out.

Invest in Yourself

Everybody has a different budget, but it’s important you spend a percentage on yourself and that wardrobe. You’re the biggest investment.

Keep a To-Go Hygiene Kit on Deck

Toothbrush. Toothpaste. Deodorant. Perfume/Cologne. Gel. Makeup. Nail clippers. Anything that makes you confident in your appearance.

Dress According to Your Personality

We’re all our person with our own quirks. If you’re outgoing, dress outgoing. (etc)
